I am making my mama a lap quilt, a holiday scarf and some magnets. If I have time, I will also make her a calendar.

Right now, I am going to make my younger babe a giant bean bag and my nephew some smaller ones. That is my goal for today.

Good luck finding something to make for your mama, rere!

I dont talk to mine so no worries on gifts LOL...BUT BUT BUT I consider my grandma to be my big mama gift. And my MIL as well.

I think the kids are giving them calenders, I think some pages with the kids pictures others with the kids drawings, well their scribbles

I'm unsure of what to make my MIL-I made her a scarf last year, but I found a really nice scarf pattern that I think she'll love so I'm leaning towards that for her. and the same possibly for my grandma. I made my grandma a lap blanket out of squares of fleece and she still raves about it. I always see her cuddled up into it.

This weekend has been a lost. Worked way to much so I got nowhere on the hat Dd has been wanting a homemade elmo blanket(like big brothers who refuses to share) so since today was my day off we went down to the fabric shop and she was out of sesame street fabric...except for some oversized recieving blankets in PINK BABY ELMO that were already serged that came with 3 oversized face clothes(blankets for her baby) for 8 bucks! WOOHOOOO I didnt have to pull out the sewing machine today! Which means I CAN work on the hat today! YAY not to mention I have 2 little ones who are sleeping soundly each with their own elmo blanket

Nice score on the Elmo blanket. And I like a variety of scarves so I think another scarf would be a good thing for your MIL.

This year I'm struggling to come up with an idea.I've been making my mom stuff for 35 years. And she has a lot of stuff but has been trying to de-clutter so I'm trying to be respectful or mindful of that.

I'm thinking about a beach blanket because she's really enjoyed going to the beach these last few summers and I know she just uses a sheet. But is it weird to give a woman who lives in Chicago a beach blanket in the middle of the winter?

This is just my to do list, haven't actually made any of them yet. I will let you know as soon as I finish them! They look simple enough though. I've made a few of that kind before and they've come out really well. Just a mixture of knits and purls. The only hard part is keeping track of where I am with my toddler around!

Definitely sounds like it's time for a change.

I'm taking a little break from my hot sweaty attic but I'm working on a fabric bucket made from log cabin squares.Don't know how much more I'll get done before nap time is up.But at least I started something.

Well at least all is not lost since your dc got hats!

Today, I made 24 magnets. I just took small, round, clear glass and glued on fun and whimsical paper cutouts. Then I glued magnets on the back and viola -- little presents are done! I'm putting 6 magnets on little square pieces of metal and putting that in a little bag tied with ribbon. It was easy and fun, especially since I did it in the company of a crafty friend.

Hope everyone's day is going well!

I ended going with the no-sew fleece blankets for my goddaughter and her two younger sibs. I asked a coworker who has made these a lot how much fabric she used. She said two yards for each color (so four yards total for each blanket). I wanted bigger ones that the kids would be able to use on their beds, too, if they wanted.

Two weekends ago I found good, thick, no-pill fleece on sale at Joann's for 50% off. $6.49 a yard. I found a pattens perfect for each kid. The solids were NOT on sale and were more than I wanted to spend, so the blankets are not print one side and solid on the other. They're both print. So what? They're cute. Coworkers were raving about them...

Why did my coworkers see them? The coworker (and her college age daughter working in my office part time) *volunteered* to make them for me. Gratis. So, I took them up on the offer, especially since they do them all the time. I took the fabric in and had the blankets back in about five days.

It was about $26 per blanket for the fabric, but I usually spend much less on the kids, so this was OK. I still have to buy books for St. Nicholas Day gifts, a bag of coffee for the kids parents, and make multiple banana bread loaves, but I'm set for the time being. I'll bake in December as I'm short on freezer space, and will wait until the holiday books are out at the store.

I'm listening to a Classical Christmas channel on Pandora.com now.

I am on a roll today -- finished my mom's quilt, made her two pot-holders, and made cranberry jelly.

My kiddos are sleeping at their aunt's -- and that is why I got so much done.

Next goal -- finish knitting scarf number 5 and make another batch of cranberry jelly.

Thank you!I think your good vibes helped.I had a much better crafting day yesterday!I didn't attempt that lining again(I think we need some time away from each other)but I did get pretty far on a second fabric bucket made from log cabin squares.I'll try to finish it up today.

p.s.I've discovered I'm in LOVE with making scrappy wonky log cabin squares!

Thanks! The front is sewed to an old towel to give it some stiffness. This one is bigger than the ones I made in the past and I wasn't sure it would stand at all but it worked out. It's circumference is about 30" and it's about 10" tall.I don't think I could go much bigger and still have it stand(not that, that's always important).
