We have loads of sweaters that we felted & we need some patterns. I'd really like to make some pilot caps for newborn thru 12 yr old. Anyone know how to make these?

Here's a basic tutorial that I'm sure you could adapt for a felted sweater. It only goes to 24mo, though., but it's a start

I looked and looked for a good pattern last winter and gave up. Maybe I'll try the Sew Liberated pattern.

That's super cute, but wool is tricky to get nice and flat.  If you're good at making your own patterns, here's an idea to go from that is super easy to sew.  Instead of trying to keep the wool from stretching as you sew, you purposefully stretch it and it gets a funky wavy edge.

I got the idea for my hats from an etsy seller, but added the ears myself.  Here's the etsy shop where I first saw these hats: https://www.etsy.com/listing/74584257/elf-hat-made-from-upcycled-sweaters-made?ref=shop_home_active_18
