Hi
I;ve been researching and deciding about self made Waldorf doll for a long time now. I liked dancing rain dolls patterns the most and wanted to order one of her kits but with new baby I just never got to it.
She is out of business?
Any other kits and patterns out there that are similar?
I looked at http://www.weirdollsandcrafts.com/
but I can't say I am in love with them really.

You can buy Joy's Waldorf Doll Patterns at Weir's. They don't sell her kits, but they tell you everything you need for them. They also ship promptly. Dancing Rain Dolls hasn't had a good reputation lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if she finally closed up shop. Which pattern of her's were you looking for?

I love Joy's patterns, even though I don't use them. (I make my own.) A Child's Dream is also carrying them.

DRD's webpage is no long there - so i would concur with the thought she has closed her shop. Which is too bad... i bought 2 kits from her and they came out well. What DRD pattern were you looking for (I have My Baby and 16" Friendship doll)

I really liked the pattern from the kit i got from Magic Cabin that i made for my oldest.. it's more of a traditional pattern from DRDs

I'm planning on making Waldorf dolls for my daughters and didn't realize I need a pattern. Would it not work to just make it up? Should I really get a pattern? Are there not any free online? I've never made a doll before.

Plarka - there are a lot of freebie ones online- and of course you can make your own doll pattern! i know for my (perfectionist) self, i really needed the pattern to feel like i wasn't messing it up (i am sure my kids would have loved a lump if i had made it though!)

I recently purchased Joy's Button Baby pattern from Weir Dolls and Crafts. I appreciated the way that Weir linked me to everything I would need to complete the doll. It should be here tomorrow, in fact! I ordered on Sunday and they shipped it yesterday (Monday).

I really like Weir Dolls, it's a great starting point. They have been around a long time and sell great quality products.

So I purchased the 18" doll pattern from DRD as a download from a link on October 6th, just got all my supplies together, and I'm ready to print out the pattern and it's not there!!!

I called, and the voicemail box is "full" - I emailed the DRD email and emailed her on facebook and have not heard back

Does anyone have the pattern they could email? (I have my paypal receipt that I would forward you so you would know that I did pay).

Even if someone has the 16" - I think I could just enlarge it slight and make it work.

Please let me know!

I am sorry. The only way I got my stuff was to threaten calling paypal and having my bank stop the transaction. then she emailed me once and ever again.

Just one.

The kit will only come with enough materials to make 1 doll. I'm not even sure that it would come with a pattern? I think the fabric is silk screened with the shape of the pattern in ink onto the fabric. You would be better off purchasing your pattern separately and the buying yardage and wool batting, tubular stockinette, floss and string in the quantities you need to make as many dolls as you want.

Would you be able to email it to me?  I'm trying to get this done for my son (his birthday was November 12th and this obviously didn't work for that as I was desperately trying to find the pattern).  Hopefully I can do this for xmas -

my email is: [email protected]

Hi there.

I am peggy (your happy dollmaker of jeanlee dolls.)

http://thesilverpenny.homestead.com/freeprojectwaldorfdollmakingredirect.html

the folks at the silverpenny have patterns and free instructions for making the classic waldorf doll

I also make waldorf and loads of other cloth dolls.  However, my pattern is my own design and it took so long to develope that I am not yet ready to release it.

I have made 100 + dolls though and would be very happy to offer any help I can....

So happy to be here!

peggy
