Hey mamas, I need some ideas.  My 4 y.o. DS has made (with lots of help!) Christmas gifts for his grandparents for the past  4 years.  This year I'm at a loss as to what he can make for them!  In the past he's made footprint ornaments (when he was a wee baby), colored wood ornaments, suncatchers, and bath salts.  We now have a DD who is 20 months old and can "help" out too.  I'm just totally uninspired this year.  The only idea I can come up with is rolled beeswax candles.

Anyone have any ideas for me? It needs to be a fairly simple craft where I can help a little but he can do the majority of it himself.

Last year we bought blank canvas grocery bags and printed DD's and DS's handprints on them. The reusable bags were well received.

What about muffin, cookie or soup mix in a mason jar? He can help scoop and pour, as well as decorate the tag and cut a circle of fabric for the top.

Happy wife to DH superhero.gifand mama to DS signcirc1.gif11/05 and DD energy.gif8/07.

I saw a thing on a show once about making teas, DS can help with measuring and mixing.

I went to the dollar store and bought two-packs of pot holders.  I will have each DD do a hand print with fabric paint on the potholders.  Each grandparent will get a set.  I figure this is a functional and sentimental item.

I always like the idea of a set of home made greeting cards. Use some of her old art and mount them to cards.  Get envelopes to fit and pre-stamp them.  They make a lovely gift.
