I learn best by watching a video or at least seeing a pictures of each step...I have searched around looking for something of this nature and other than the occasional youtube or ehow video I'm not coming up with much. I appreciate any direction someone can point me in, thanks!

I found a ton of you tube videos when I got serious a couple years ago. I loved this tutorial for socks - http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/ . I taught myself in a weekend using it.
after years of knitting, one of the most useful resources i have is a book my oldest son got for me, The Knitting Answer Book by Margaret Radcliffe.
if you haven't yet, join ravelry, http://www.ravelry.com/. you can post questions there and get answers from very experienced knitters.
check your local yarn stores. they probably offer classes and knitting groups. some will help you for free if you get your supplies for the project from the store.
