That is so lovely! It really looks wonderful. Beautiful colors, too. The broomstick lace is slow going - I do not find it very enjoyable. I'll probably avoid it in the future.

Isa nice- what type of yarn do you use for the dish/cleaning clothes? I am ready for some bright colors! I couldn't sleep last night and made an extra hat to go with the set since Easter will come soon after the baby.

Oh I love that. Your so much faster than I am. It almost looks like a soft denim in the first pic.

That is so beautiful! I really like the subtle colors. I've been trying to decide on a pattern and color for a blanket for our baby. I feel like it's a girl, but we aren't finding out until the birth, so that makes it harder! I had a pink acrylic crocheted blanket that someone at my dad's work made me when I was little that I slept with, and I loved it, but I can't find a similar pattern. Anyone have a favorite baby blanket (crochet) pattern?

last baby blanket has been dispatched and received by the expectant mom

have finished another washcloth in "spring colors"

presently working on a larger knitted blanket (should be about 40 inches long and about 24 inches wide) for the same baby ... knitting is so much slower for me, so i keep in my purse some more crocheted washcloths in progress for odd moments waiting for a bus or in a waiting room ...

No pics because I have had several false starts lately. But I am still knitting socks. I am challenging myself to learn all manner of complex stitches, cables, multiple yarns, etc. It is an engineering miracle to watch patterns appear! Eventually, I will complete something (without having to rip it all out), and will post a pic. But it is fun in the meantime.

My knitting attempts are driving me crazy!! I tried with a thin yarn but ended up having way more knit stitches than I had cast on. Then I switched to this and it got too tight to work with. Now I'm trying with just a chunky yarn but it's slow going and also seeming tight. I'm tired of unraveling....any advice.

i would say much bigger needles for knitting =helps to see "what's happening"

(am not a "natural" with knitting, couldn't work it out for years, my brain had to mature to about 35 years of age until i could wrap my mind to what was happening when knitting .....)

No camera available, but I am 3/4 through a fun project. We were visiting a friend last week, and noticed her dishcloths were VERY worn and stained. This friend is quite wealthy, usually has everything she could possibly want, and I often am stumped to think of a gift for her family. The very next day, I found a huge skein (1 pound) of cotton on clearance, a beautiful variegated blue. I have knit and crocheted 7 dishcloths so far, each a different pattern, and I am only 1/2 way through the yarn! I think 10 dishcloths will be plenty. Haven't decided if I will wait for her birthday, or just send them when I am finished. But this is fun!

Hi everyone,
Anything new going on? With fall in sight I've started back up. I'm trying to become a knitter as well as crochet. Any suggestions or easy ideas? Anyone come across any good holiday gift ideas?
