question about knitting and crocheting - Mothering Forums

when mamas talk about decorative edges to there soakers or projects or whatever - recommendations are to crochet the edge. do you bind off - then crochet? or do you crochet while the stitches are on the needle? :

Bind off, then crochet. If you slip the first stitch on each row, then you crochet into each stitch. If you bound off stitches along a live edge, you crochet every other stitch. At least that's what I do.
