The tweedy monogram sweater. Heard on the knitter review forum that there was a Rowan pattern that had about 1000 sold before they clamped down due to copyright issues.

Anyone out there one of the lucky ones? I found the site that sells them, but I would love to make it myself, just for the pride issue.

PM me if so

I don't know what's so special about the Rowan pattern, but isn't the tweedy monogram HP sweater just a plain, stockinette, drop-shouldered sweater with an intarsia monogram? Couldn't you just chart out the big H and knit it up on any plain sweater pattern that fits?

Hmmm, didn't think of that. How do you chart a monogram? (So far, I've done a scarf, so intarsia was going to be a big step for me )

I'll PM you complete directions if you want them, but in the meantime, here's a super-quickie how-to:

First, here's a link to a graph paper generator.

http://www.tata-tatao.to/knit/matrix/e-index.html

Plug in the gauge of your sweater to produce a chart that will have accurate proportions (important for intarsia). Color in the squares to depict the letter that you want. Center the monogram on your sweater front, noting which row you want to start.

Here's a link for intarsia knitting:

I'm on my way out the door, so sorry if this isn't clear. Let me know if you have questions.

Kelly, I just realised that your username is your name backwards ! My sister and I used to always refer to ourselves as Nosila and Yelsel. You've brought back a very nice memory for me!

you can also find a font that's very similar to the one they use, and then trace it on the graph paper (lay the big printout of the font, then the graph paper ove rit, on a sunny window) and then just color in the blocks that fall inside the tracing. That way, you're sure to have it properly proportioned and looking just like the *real* ones
