i want to dye a set for my niece for christmas. what is a good set? how many and what sizes? she is 6.

I guess how many can really depend. I usually think in 3's . So a set of 3 or a set of 6. Maybe if you do a set of 3 you could do 44" x 44" and 35x35 if you do a set of six.
A set of six is also good because you can do a rainbow spectrum of colors.

Play silks are an open-ended toy. They come from the Waldorf and Montessori traditions of education. They are generally made from china silk scarves and dyed in a variey of colors. They are great for so many things. Little ones like to cuddle with them kinda like a little luvy blanket. Where they really shine is in imaginative play where they become capes, long hair, wings, skirts etc. etc. etc.

The big ones are awesome for building forts(I have also worn them as sarongs )
