is knitting that much more difficult than crocheting? I've learned to crochet a few times and found it came easy to me. I'm taking a knitting class next month and I'm excited about it. However, I though if knitting takes a lot of time to learn then maybe I will just crochet soakers for my Dd.

What do you all think?

They're different, that's all. Once you get the hang of knitting, it's just as automatic as crocheting unless you're doing a fancy pattern.

The fabric made from crochet is thicker too, but has bigger openings, unless you're just doing singles for the entire piece.

"What will you do once you know?"

Crocheting seems to work up faster too.

I think crocheting is a little easier, but I enjoy knitting more and it seems a little more versitile to me. I have made soakers both ways and definately prefer my knit ones.
