And he turned out soo good. I used cotton yarn instead of wool. The knitting is a little loose. I would use smaller needles if I do cotton again. I did this for my nephew. My girls want some now. I will get a pic soon.

The pic is on my dad's camera. The batteries died in mine. I will get it from him this weekend. My nephew loved it.

I led the knit-a-long over at Seasonsoriginals.com - I have enjoyed so much seeing everyone's gnomes!! It has been great fun..

I have some finished ones at my site also and if anyone is interested in knitting their own the link is up on the front page at Seasons.

I am available with any questions.

Warm wishes,
Tonya

I have dyed my yarn and hope to start on my first gnome today! If all goes well I am making 5, one for each child plus 3 for friends' babes who are having birthdays soon.

I knit a little pink gnome from Tonya's instructions for Kaelynn's birthday, and it turned out great! Thanks Tonya . Just make sure you leave lots of tail for sewing up, I always short myself that way!

We did one of these the other day! my son helped me stuff him.. one thing I will do again is perhaps dye my roving to match my yarn as with really dark wool the white roving peeks through!

We got our shipment of things from you today Tonya! your awesome! the robins nest is so cool

Heres our gnome who ended up being taller but my wool is super thick aran.

We have a few more underway

I would really like to make 3 different sizes of these. Any ideas of how to enlarge the patterns?
Thanks mamas for all the help!!!

I need to buy some wool for stuffing...I think the idea of dye it to match the yarn is a great idea.
I have some natural fishermans right now. I could dye it and at the same time dye the stuffing....hmmmmm....now my head is working over time....

:LOL

Hi!

I used #8 needles and a pretty heavy weight aran wool, its minimally processed I find the odd twig in there ect :LOL I got some wool from Tonya from her kit yesterday and its thinner.. I suppose like a worsted? it does not feel as chunky.. now my gnome you see in the pic ended up at being 8 inches tall from his hat to his toes ;-) and I added a few extra stitches to the arms.

I've made two of the small ones now, and I'm currently doing one that is twice as big by just doubling all the stitches in the directions. Of course that ends up being 4 times as much knitting to do, LOL. But it will be quite a bit bigger I think, you can see the pics that radish posted for a comparison.

I am bumping this super old thread to ask if anyone by chance has a copy of the gnome pattern that they could post or send me. The Season's Originals site is gone and I'd really like to make some of these for holiday gifts. TIA!

i finally learned to knit and this gnome was one of my first projects last year. It was so easy and fun! I suggest for a small child a rainbow of gnomes.

And I'm a gnome lover too I have loads of gnominsh things including a custom made purse and wallet set.
