Okay I am a *bit* of a pattern junky so in spite of the fact that I have my own pattern which works really well on my own kiddos (obviously) I have this overwhelming need to purchase nearly every diapering pattern that comes into being (its a sickness really LOL).

I have several patterns that I have never made "per specs" since I read the instructions and think..."well that's just silly, I'll just do it this way" LOL...

I have been hankering lately to make Niamh one diaper from each of my patterns and follow the directions precisely just to see which pattern I prefer best (and be able to honestly review the patterns as they are rather than as I have morphed them KWIM??)

Of course it is a rather daunting task given the # of diaper patterns that I have LOL!

Very Baby AIO
Very Baby Fitted
HB Home AIO
Cuddlebuns
Poopockets
Poochies
Side snapping Poopockets
Fern and Fairie Recycle Diapers

I also have the Diaper Covers Deluxe Pattern, 2 training pants patterns (1 from New Conceptions and 1 from Janelle's PUL) and 3 soaker patterns...and I hardly ever knit

...uh I think that is all of them currently (at least diaper related) :

So does anyone else have this sickness and want to join me a sew along?? It could be fun and informative

So I was thinking about it and I thought it would be really cool to do a review of each pattern as we make it. I think I will PM LaLa and see if we could have a sticky for pattern reviews (or even if there was enough interest..<gulp> a sub-forum

As to the format of the review I kind of like the format they use at http://sewing.patternreview.com ...

Pattern Description:

Pattern Sizing:

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Were the instructions easy to follow?

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

Fabric Used:

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

Conclusion

So what do you think?

Ooooooooh, I LOVE that idea! I'm just getting started sewing my own dipes, but I'm hoping to sew most of my next babe's stash, and this info would be so helpful! Hopefully, I'll be experienced enough to contribute very soon.

Okay I have decided to start tonight with the side snapping poopocket. I picked that one because I think there is a fair bit of feedback on the currently popular patterns (Very Baby specifically) so I thought I would start with one that isn't quite as popular so I can give some feedback on it

Now one note...I know I promised to sew the diapers "per specs" but I really cannot stomach cutting a front facing and 2 side facings for each diaper so I will be using a hidden middle layer instead :P Other than that though I will follow the directions as exactly as I can

I'll report back when I am done (hopefully I can find my camera tonight too so that I can take pictures!)

...so lets make it a free for all LOL...everyone pick which pattern you are going to make a diaper out of and report back when you are done!
