i was at michaels the other day and it appears that all cross stitch is dragons/fantasy, thomas kincaid (barf!), religious, or sugary cutesy crap.

am i stuck trying to make my own (im thinking of doing a sampler of emma goldman quotes)? or is there cool/hip/punk/whatever patterns out that that i just dont know about?

Well, if you aren't against stitching up some profanities, I'd recommend www.subversivecrossstitch.com.

Areyou ordering one? I've done the "Bite Me" one and I just ordered "F*ck Cancer" and "Candy "A**" to make as Christmas gifts.

LOVE IT!!!!

new to xstitching...and so hating flowers and cats (no offense to cat loves...I am more a dog person...99% bc I am allergic.)

lizziekate.com and twistedthreads.com are both contempory and not so old church lady-ish...

Those are cool!!

Your thread inspired me to revisit my cross stitch obsession :LOL which I haven't had much time for. This is what I found that might be of interest:

http://www.daystardesigns.com/
http://www.greatbearcanada.com/
http://www.xs-collectibles.com/ (if you're looking for a really detailed project!)

Mooooom! to  guitar.gifDS (1/05) and whistling.gifDSS (11/05).  TTC fingersx.gifour "ours" after VR on 10/12.

Found this GREAT free site that you can upload pictures to and it converts it to a xstitch pattern. I made the pattern for the baby being birthed from the flower.

www.hoffmandis.com has tons of patterns. I buy mine through www.needleinahaystack.com. She charges actual shipping and is fast.

www.nordicneedle.com has loads of stuff too.
