I sent out about a bazillion copies of those patterns! Did anybody make one? If so, was it as simple as it looked? Are you happy with it? Can you share pics on this thread?

What is the pillowcase dress? Do you have a picture of one online? It sounds interesting to me. I missed the original thread.

For those looking for instructions: I like this version - it is really cute and simple too. I'm not sure which one the OP uses. Happy Sewing!

Thanks for posting this link! It looks easy and I will definitely be trying it out, when we get a little closer to summer.

Just wanted to let the mamas who PMd me know - I'm sending you the pattern, it will go in the mail today. Sorry I'm late getting back to you, I've been really busy and under the weather for a couple of weeks.

Hey! I made the pillowcase dress...I had it from another site, I actually made it last summer, but it was too big on DD and she will be able to wear it this summer. I have a photobucket account...now if someone could tell me how to post pics I would be glad to show off my little model!

It was fairly easy...and I really don't sew much. I would love to learn more, but....anyhow, I made it on one of those machines that is really just for seams, and it went well.

So...advice on how to post pics?

Upload the photo(s) to an album you create in your photobucket account, then follow instructions to "share online" (I have a shutterfly acct but I think generally photobucket works along the same lines) - email the link to yourself and then copy it & paste it into a post here.

Coule you send me the dress pattern as well? I went to one of the sites that someone else had suggested but I couldn't find the pattern- only pictures of the dresses. I promise I will make them and send you a photo. Thanks!

You got it, darlin'.

If your girl will fit into a pillowcase, I imagine it'll work - if not, you could probably use a king-size, and/or modify with side panels. A pillowcase is just a rectangle, so it'd be easy to add a coordinating strip to each side seam.

Mamas, if you'd like a copy of the pattern you need to PM me your address - it's an old paper copy from a mag so it won't scan very well into an e-mail.

Hey skellbelle--I am one of the mamas you sent the pattern to. I have not made any dresses yet (my DD is 5mo now and I don't think she was born when you sent the pattern), but I have been collecting pillow cases. My fav so far is pink toile. I am totally not a toile person in regular life, but this one just called out to me. It has a stain so I am thinking I will tea dye it. I will send you a pic when I finally make it!

I think it's because if you google "make a pillowcase dress" this thread comes up on the first page of results. People must be joining MDC just for this thread!
