Ok, I haven't shown off in a while so I'm gonna. Now, this isn't too pretty but for my first real try at FOE/PUL cover; it's not THAT bad and useable still! LOL

Take 1
Take 2

Ok, Editting cuz I made and AIO. I LOVE this 1 inch FOE, its sooo easy to work with, my stitching isnt the best but it will get better with time. Have to show it off anyway.

Inner
Outer
Front
Back

I used my own pattern. I need to modify the pattern when using foe, especially crotch area more narrow.

I think it looks great! What width of FOE did you use? I have a little bit of 1/2" coming but am thinking I really want 3/4".

when folks say 1 inch FOE does that mean it's 1/2 inch on inside & 1/2 on outside?

just curious,

cheers

When you have the FOE in front of you and you unfold it, its 1 inch.. so folded its 1/2 inch, so youd have 1/2 inch on one side of the diaper or cover and 1/2 inch on teh other side of the diaper or cover. KWIM?

love your AIO! Maybe I should try some that way--with just aplix in place of wings. then I wouldn't have to worry about the wings curling with the foe.

Thats exactly why I used my own pattern for the diaper and not one of the free ones. I made a cover earlier this evening and the tabs curled. It still works but when I did the diaper, I used my own pattern. It saves on fabric when you dont cut out tabs too believe it or not, more than you would think.

Really nice! With your pattern, do you back the hook side of the Aplix with contrasting fabric? I'm assuming, since it doesn't look like just plain Aplix!

Great idea btw...I'm going to try that with my first cover so I don't have to worry about wing curl.

Mom to Liz (14) and Dillon (3) and Mitchell FINALLY born 7/11/10!

Yep, I sew the aplix to microfleece scraps, or any scrap that isn't absorbant. KWIM? Right now I have a bunch of mf scraps. Apparently my pattern resembles the Honeyboy pattern a LOT . I had no idea. I think mine isn't exactly like it but close. How does one make a pattern their own? LOL
