I'm just learning how to quilt, but I have ambitions of making dd a quilt for her birthday. I'd like something that is feminine in design. I don't really like the log cabin one, although I guess that's a nice beginner pattern. Any suggestions and websites? Spam me!

Irish chain is very easy and a great first quilt design. It's basically a bunch of 9-patch squares that you can make up quickly by "strip piecing".

Ok I went to the quilterscache and it just keeps giving me more and more links, but no patterns. I'm not the best searcher.
Help!

No problem! This link works great. I'm the worst w/the computer. I can barely send an email let alone search for info.

You may want to go to a local library. I haven't quilted yet (guess I'm not the best for specific suggestions), but I have looked at lots of patterns and there's some books specifically designed for children/babies that are simpler and you can simply continue the pattern to make it a bigger size for twin or such.

Found a great book at the library with a really cute simple pattern that uses assorted triangles to make the design. I'm very excited to get started and hope it turns out well.
