I got my mom and MIL framed pictures of their grandchildren for Mother's Day. I would also like to include a crafty item but I'm sure they're up to their ears in soaps and such that I made for Christmas! LOL! I would also like to make a small treat to honor the mothers that I lean on everyday to help me through this part of my life. Any good ideas? I'm talented in crafts but can never think of them on my own! Thanks!

I made my mom a stepping stone out of concrete with my kids footprints in it last year. I tried to scratch the year in it too. She loved it and wants another for this year. It was just round (I used a big clay pot saucer) and I added some broken pieces of glass to jazz it up, or you could use small river rocks.
You can also get these in kits at Micheals or other craft stores, that's where I got the idea.
This would be great if they have gardens or if not, you could make a smaller stone for a door stop maybe?

For friends you could make small sachets with pretty fabric for their drawers or dryer. They'd be simple and fast.
Pressed flower bookmarks are easy too and very pretty. You just need about 3 days to press the flowers and some nice paper to use as your backing. You can laminate or use thin rice paper to cover.

Good luck,
Ann

I'm looking for some Mother's Day gift ideas too...
My idea is to put dd's handprints on the side of a flower pot BUT both my MIL and mother live hundreds of miles away and they would need to be shipped or carried on a plane.
So that kind of rules out my idea.

For Valentine's Day I had dd finger paint with red paint on pink paper. I cut out little red heart and put one in each corner of the paper and then just added her name and the year. That was fun to do and turned out to be a big hit.

Hope to hear some more ideas!

I babysit my 3yo niece regularly, and we've made a little plaque out of homemade playdough with her handprints. I added her name and the year. When it's dry, I'm going to have my niece paint it, then we'll give it to my sister on mother's day.
