Thank heavens for bad weather! I have been granted a couple extra days because of a blizzard to finish up knitting! Good thing too,
Me too! I was definitely not going to be able to finish, but since I spent the WHOLE day today knitting because work was closed due to the blizzard, I'm almost done! Woo-hoo!

I'm jealous Samantha! I thought I'd get a ton of knitting done on the bus, but instead spent a ridiculous amount of time waiting for it going home, trying to keep my bag closed so it didn't all get wet! DD napped during the hour it took us to go 1.5 miles from my sister's home and then was wide awake...now I'm trying to post grades for my class, but there's only a row & a half to go on my sister's baby afghan (plus weaving in ends).

Here's the funny part: I had hoped to stop at the knitting store in Boulder before heading home, but figured with the snow I should just get on the first bus. Man, 45 minutes later I was bitter! I could have went to the store, bought the needles and more yarn, gotten a coffee and knitted a scarf before the bus came.

Happily, the afghan is the last Christmas item and I'm sure I can finish it tomorrow.

Oh, Ruth, that stinks. I hope you're warmed up now.
I'm slowly dying. One slipper down, three to go, everything else is cancelled I hate Christmas.

The belt is done!!!!! Well, almost. The knitting is done. I just have to attach the buckle which I'll do once it has dried properly.

Hallelujah!

Thank the gods for the blizzard!

Am I crazy to think I can whip up a scarf (using very thick yarn and needles) in time for Christmas too?

right there with you for loving this blizzard! i discovered that my lovely dd had pulled my panta off my needles and unravelled a bunch of it, so i frogged and started over. i've been using the time waiting for baking to finish to start again.

Ok am I stupid? I started a pair of fingerless gloves for dh today, and managed to knit one side. Darn, now I still have the other side to go. :

Presenting the belt aka the damned thing I'm glad to see over. I modified the pattern slightly, because the cabling was just too much to cope with for 42 inches.

The Belt

Close Up / the buckle

Wow, no wonder! That's one cool belt. Is that the Boulder Belt / Knitty? I like it, and I'm not even a Belt Wearer....
