It doesn't have to be superwash...just don't toss it in the machine later! I printed off quinn, but I'll probably alter the pattern to match whatever yarn I have on hand and want to use for it...

I've got yellow, orange, a handpainted yellow/orange/redish, purple, I think I have black, I need to look in another spot. If I can't find the right color, I've got a gc for craft warehouse that I can use.

lobstertv what color will your quinn bag be?

So it is Quinn. not my first choice but I think I will join anyway as I would like to learn cable knitting and it is a relativly small project. I will use handspun but not sure what I have in my stash to use or whether I will have to spin something up. I have some local 60%mohair 40% wool millspun singles that I dyed with tansy and marigolds so I might use that although a soft yellow bag doesn't go with my wardrobe. Maybe I will spin up some black shetland.

I was really hoping for fetching.

Sounds like we need a monthly KAL list of projects! I'd be up for fetching sometime, I think.

I'm going to make one of these soon...maybe this could be a project we do together in a month or so. I have the patterns & would be happy to send them to ya'll (which is legal -- they only charge to help pay costs; once you have possession you can distribute them freely). It's a charity project...

I love the bear, or the fingerless gloves, I bought the yarn to make those for myself right after that issue came out and never got around to it. So I'll look forward to the next KAL...

I have the pattern that I made into a PDF when the Bay Window was running a charity project for them back in the fall of '05. The ones I made went to an orphanage in Jamaica. It's such a fun, quick project and a great stash buster to boot. I have so much on my plate this month, but I'm hoping to be able to knock out one or two of them a month so I can space my charitable knitting out all year round.

I am glad I am not the only one who wants to try Fetching!

The bears are great too and that would be fun too. I was just imagining if all the Mothering knitting mamas made one bear how many there would be to donate!

So - are we doing the Quinn bag?

I printed the pattern, but I'll wait for someone to say that we're doing that for sure.

this is the best i could do, but if you follow this link, it's color number 813 (towards the bottom). nothing out of this world, IMO, but my yarn store didn't have a lot of colors to choose from.

Just an idea, for future reference, but even if you couldn't use/give the current project, you could join along and knit anyway, then maybe try to trade your creation for another craft during one of the craft swaps under MDC Swaps. Just a thought...

Thank you! I've been looking for a cozy pattern and I "happen" to have a single ball of Kureyon! It's now OTN!.

I'm going to dig through my stash tonight to find something for quinn. I have some really pretty berrocco ultra alpaca dark green, that I think would be nice.
Could someone email me the pattern? For some reason when I go to donwload it, I get a blocked message. My DH has our computer protected against EVERYTHING so I suspect is it his doing, lol!

I am knitting from my stash for this. I have two skeins of Peace Fleece in gray, but I'm worried it may not be enough. I'll have to check... I have three skeins of Bartlett's, but it's not a great purse color, IMO. I need to move beyond my black/gray/brown purse limitations, I guess.

I don't know who I'm kidding - I've got plenty in my stash to get this thing knocked out.

Maybe the OP could just change the title? Are we doing an official start date?
