I was out looking for just a plain ole' table to put my machines on. Went into an office supply store to get one with folding legs, and lo and behold, they had a nice desk for 32.01!!! on clearance cheaper than a plain ole' table

I am quite proud of my purchase

Oooohhh, bonus!! The bottom "drawer" is for a hanging file, had a metal insert to hang the file folders on. I took it out and my serger fits perfectly inside

Color me jealous! That is a really sharp looking desk for $32.01, very modern. You have lots of space, too.

I wish I had a permanent space in this teeny, tiny house I was using the dining room table, but we like to have dinner together and with my sewing stuff all over the place, forget it.

Now I'm at the kitchen table and I'm so squished. My foot pedal is off to the side and I get a backache after sewing for long periods.

Oh well, what can you do

Our bedroom is starting to look a tad cramped, a king size bed, dresser, 5 drawer chest, that desk and the computer desk :LOL Thank goodness we have walk in closets to store my fabric and other junk in :LOL

This was taken in Feb; I now have an armoire for fabric and more shelving. I was in the middle of production so it's seriously messsaaaay...

but here's most of my sewing room (you can sort of see my serger desk to the far left):

edit to add: I think I'll take some new ones tomorrow, it looks SO much better in there now Those bags there under the desk are from new fabric, not garbage :LOL

My Sewing Room

One of the most awesome things about this house when we bought it was the size of the laundry room, which I quickly dubbed sewing room. These pics are after it was first organized; it's not this clean now, and I NEVER sew in there for two reasons: about a year ago, we bought wood flooring for our entire house and what hasn't been used yet is stored under the desk and 2) it's not air conditioned in there, so it gets hotter that you-know-where, especially with the hot water heater and dryer in there.

But at least I do have a place to store my stuff. I just wish I had a place where I could leave my machines sitting out and usable as well .

Charlotte, midwife to some awesome women, wife to Jason, and no longer a mama to all boys S reading.gif('01), A nut.gif ('03) S lol.gif ('08) and L love.gif ('10).
