My 6 yo DD wants to make something for her 6 month old cousin, whom she will meet for the first time at Christmas. Any suggestions?

I was wondering if there might be a super-simple stuffed toy that she could hand sew or perhaps something w/fleece that would not require any sewing. She likes projects that she can finish in 1 or 2 sittings, otherwise she loses patience.

Tutorials would be great, too, if you know of any good projects!

Thanks!

What about a mobile? I see that www.Novanaturals.com has actual kits you can buy, but if you've got ideas of your own, that would work too. The novanaturals ones are felted angels/fairies, but you could just as easily do felted balls or origami flowers, etc...

ooh.. I just thought of something else! What about a Taggies blankie? this is essentially two peices of flannel or felt sewn together with little bits of satin ribbon hanging out. http://www.taggies.com/home_us.html Some babies go NUTSO for the feel of these little tags. Perhaps this little one will too? They don't have to be very big- my daughter recieved (and loved) one that wasn't much bigger than a washcloth size.

Another idea - when my youngest niece was born, I had my two oldest draw pictures on long sleeved onsies with fabric markers. They turned out adorable and my sister really liked them.

A happy woman
