I'm so tired, burnt out. I have some finishing touches I "could" do to some things, but I'm hitting a wall. I don't wanna! I have the ideas I want to do to finish things off, but I'm hitting a creative block. I just want to goof off and say, "it's good enough".
I've got a cuppa coffee (french vanilla, yum), but I need motivation to go with the caffeine. I've finished wrapping most of the extended family gifts, so now it's just my girl's and dh I have to finish up wrapping. I have two days, but I need to get motivated. I don't have to go anywhere, just buckle down and tie up loose strings.
Wrapping? Oh, you're reminding me of stuff I have to do still
I think starting with a nice hot cup of something sounds like a good plan, though. Aren't we supposed to get some down time to actually enjoy this holiday?
I figure the downtime happens at 8:43 pm Dec 25. That's when me and the kids ought to be back home and just playing with our stuff.
Actually, I'm ahead of the game this year wrt to wrapping. I'm NEVER done before Xmas Eve, but this time I think I will be. We might actually be able to rest and relax on Xmas Eve...
I started before Thanksgiving. I spent 3 hours making a felt whale last night (even though it wasn't 3-d, but more like 2.5 d), because I kept tangling up my embroidery floss so I went slow. I didn't have to, but I wanted to. The whale goes with the ocean playmat I made for dd1. I also found out I don't have enough felt to make a felt board. I have a large corkboard I bought a long time ago. All I needed to do to get it done was spray adhesive some felt too it, but I realized at 10 pm last night I didn't have enough to cover even half of it. I'm thinking about going to Joann's today, but I don't know if that is foolish or not.
If I can find the camera I'll post my 3 hour whale.
Looking at the whale now, it doesn't look all that fantastic for 3 hours worth of work. I mean, it looks okay, but I don't like my stitches along the bottom where the white part is. It was hard to go through 4 layers of felt,so it was really hard to keep them straight.
Oh, well. Dd1 isn't too picky, and it is recognizably a whale, so I shouldn't complain.

I'm almost done with my wood animals. I just have to put a protective layer of waterbased sealer on it.
There is no way I'm going to Joann's today, it's like 15 degrees out and I'm not dealing with the cold and standing in line. Besides, dd1's birthday is next month, so I can make it for that.

I'm thinking of that too. Funny thing is, I have made gifts for my girls throughout the year, but just give to them whenever I'm done with them. I should save them for b-days and holidays but I never can wait.

Thank you. I was just thinking though I ought to re-stitch the whole perimeter and actually use white embroidery floss on the bottom part so you can't tell how sloppy the stitches are. I didn't think of that at 2 in the morning on Saturday though. It came to me this morning as I was lying in bed.
