I posted this at Ravelry but am still looking for more tips -
I scored a bunch of vintage cashmere sweaters at St. Vincents and am looking for any tips on unraveling fingering wt. sweater yarn. I've seen all the online tutorials, but if anyone has any BTDT tips on unraveling, I'd be delighted to hear them! (I posted pictures on my blog of some of the unraveling I've done thus far, and a bunch of FOs, if you care to see)

Thanks CarolynnMarilynn!

I've got many projects in mind for all that yummy yarn... I spent all of last night picking apart seams - oddly satisfying!

Your neckwarmer is beautiful. That stitch looks perfect with the yarn.

You're inspiring me to go to Value Village for cashmere...

You are so awesome for unraveling all those and using the yarn....I don't have the patience .

Your FOs are very nice, too.

Most of all, though, BLESS YOU for that link on the Norwegian purling. I am so excited right now, I can't even think straight! Off to put the new technique to good use on some K3 P1 socks...oooohhh I am so excited!

(can you tell how excited I am?!)

WOW!! That's a lot of yarn you got there! Way to go, mama. I so don't have the patience to gently rip away at an old sweater (tried it once...never finished).
Love the neckwarmer, too!

Isn't that the best video ever?! I was Norwegian purling minutes after watching it - as if I'd always been able to do it.

You guys - it is SO satisfying ripping apart a sweater! and on those nights I don't really feel like knitting, but still want to be doing something fiber-related, fits the bill perfectly
