MIL fave poem is When I am an Old Woman, I Shall Wear Purple. So I plan to make her a purple wreath with bity objects from the poem as accents. If I get that far. For my dm, I am trying to think of something similar, but not the same. I don't know what her fave poem is. Guess I could ask, huh?

You can also make a mini quilt, with the kids and grandkids names either embroidered or somehow write them in some accent squares.
I'd like to hear ideas from others as well!

I am knitting a piece of lace about 4'"X4" and mounting it between 2 pieces of glass. I think it will look nice hanging in a window and I get to try a new lace pattern and use some spendy and pretty yarn.

Last year I cut half the neck off of green glass bottles and did some pretty etching on them. I them put them in a wood try lined with copper. My mother has such a green thumb and always has cuttings in old glasses and jars. So this was for her cuttings. She asked for more at X-mas.
It is really fun and easy.
