My cycle started a few days early and I continued bleeding for 2 weeks. No BCP or anything with hormones, hubby has a vasectomy (had done 5 months ago). It has been very light most days, but I am REALLY REALLY nauseated. I mean, I can't hardly move because I don't want to puke.

At first, when called my midwife and she said it sounded like I may be pregnant. I told her hubby had a vasectomy and she asked if we were sure he was sterile. I assume we are sure since 2 test came back that he was sterile. So she said if it didn't stop in the next week or so I need to see the OB. She put me on progesterone cream. on Day 15 of the cycle (2nd day of cream) i finally stopped bleeding/spotting, whatever you want to call it.

Of course, she scared me into taking a pregnancy test, so I bought a 2 pack of CVS tests and BOTH were positive. I didn't believe it, seriously, I mean vasectomies are supposed to be like 99.9% right?? So, I went to the free clinic and they did a test, NEGATIVE. I am so confused, frustrated and just plain emotional over all of this. I am having a blood test done tomorrow to find out for sure.

Admittedly, we do regret doing the vasectomy so soon and would be absolutely thrilled to have another chance, but I don't want to get my hopes up because my gut tells me that something is up and it's not pregnancy.

What the heck is going on? Any ideas or advice? The bleeding was annoying, but the nausea is just brutal!

TIA

I know most clinic tests aren't as sensitive so it could be that you don't have enough hcg to trigger a positive with a clinic test. Was the home test you bought a pink dye?

It could also be that you had a m/c and the home test was sensitive enough to pick up the end of the hcg and the clinic test was not.
With that much nausea, I would tend to think you would have enough hcg to test positive on anything, but maybe the clinic test was a dud?
I would take a different brand of hpt (pink dye!) and see what you get.
Was the midwife concerned about the bleeding?
Good luck - I hope you get the answer you want.

The midwife wasn't too concerned about the bleeding, especially since the progesterone stopped it. I always bleed a lot in pregnancy, so it seems normal for me. But, on the other hand, I have had 5 m/c and only 2 babies so maybe there's something to the bleeding. (The 5 m/c are the reason for the vasectomy btw).

I took a dollar tree pink dye test first thing this morning and it's negative. So, I'm thinking either m/c or something totally off the wall is going on. And the nausea is a lot better now.

We are definitely having hubby take a sample to the doc though, just to be sure!

Were the 2 tests from before blue dye tests? If so, they were probably false positives. Blue dye tests are notoriously awful for giving false positives.

My dh had a V 2 yrs ago and I also had a "scare" a couple cycles ago. I was sure I O'ed and I was 3 days late. FWIW I always have almost every p/g symptom you can think of during my cycles. I have a feeling my hormones are seriously wacky.

Also, I also tested with a blue dye test (it was all i had left over in the house) and if I didn't know how crappy blue dye tests were I would have fallen over thinking I was p/g. Mine had a line and YES it had a blue tint to it! They are the DEVIL!

I think that your hormones are just a little crazy right now. But it wouldn't hurt of course to have dh send in a sample to have it checked.
