I am now just two days late for my period, but it is something that is not normal for me. After realizing that it wasn't going to come yesterday, I took a pregnancy test yesterday evening around 5:00pm and got a pretty dark second line, meaning there is a bun in the oven!
BUT.. I have been reading on the internet that it could be a possible chemical pregnancy. I definitely don't want that, but I am hoping my nerves are just getting the best of me. Is a chemical pregnancy still possible? Other websites are showing I conceived on June 10, 2012...
This will be my first child, so I am new to all of this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I don't really understand the whole "chemical pregnancy" thing myself. I thought it was usually used to mean a very early miscarriage, conceiving without good implantation. But I would say if your period is late and you got a dark positive, you are definitely pregnant! Take a deep breath and try to relax/distract yourself. There isn't much to do at this point but wait and see. If you're really concerned you can ask your doctor for a blood test. Good luck!

Chemical pregnancy is really just a very early miscarriage. They are very common, but most people don't know they have even had them unless they take a pregnancy test.
A couple years ago I was TTC. I took a pregnancy test 10 DPO and it was positive. But then 12 DPO I got my period like normal (that's when I'd normally get it). So basically conception took place, created enough HCG to make a test positive, but the pregnancy wasn't viable and my period came like normal. Had I not tested early, I wouldn't have even known I was pregnant.
To me it looks like you are surely pregnant. While a miscarriage is always "possible", it's not really something you can worry about. Typically miscarriage rates plummet when you start your second trimester (which is why so many people don't tell the world before then).
