I'm new to the forum, but not to the TTC troubles. DH (31) and I (30) have been TTC#2 for about 2 years now. We have a sweet little boy, Ellis, who will turn 3 in October. We don't want to space our kids out too much, so after years of trying, we finally are taking steps to finding out what the dealio is.

I had my first GYN apt 2 weeks ago and am now waiting for AF to show up. Then I will go in for some blood tests on CD3...???? I have no idea what all these tests are about. Progesterone levels??? Anyone? Anyway, my husband will also do his SA test at that time. Hopefully, we can get everything figured out sooner than later.

I look forward to getting to know other people in my situation....and learning a lot more in the process. From what I've seen, the people on these boards are very well educated and I'm confident you guys can answer many of my questions that I will probably come up with over the next few months.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome! You crack me up!

I see its been a while since your first post. I hope your test results were helpful. Dh and I have been ttc #2 for a little over a year and I'm starting to ponder doing testing. I also have a dc who is 3.

Peace,
Laura

OTMomma~
We're still doing the testing. I go back in on Monday for more blood tests (progesterone). And DH still needs his SA done but that's not for a couple weeks. Plus he tore his ACL and has a huge knee brace on right now, so the BD isn't so easy! :LOL

I'm not sure what blood levels your dr might be taking. I assume a thyroid test as hypothyroidism causes 10% of all infertility. Perhaps also progesterone or other sex hormones to determine whether you are ovulating. It's not uncommon to have anovulatory cycles and not know it. I highly highly recommend you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's done wonders for us!

My chances of conceiving were very very low as I had hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, and low progesterone (any one of which is enough to cause complete infertility). Yet we conceived 3 times in 4 cycles because I was able to track my fertility signals and be in tune with my body.

Good luck! I'm sending lots of happy baby dust!!
