Are there any multiple c-section mamas out there? I had #2 at the end of December. Let's not go into why this happened - I don't want to get p.o.'d and start ranting
Anyway, what is a good amount of time to wait before TTC again? My doctor warned me after my first baby to wait at least a year and a half so that the scar would be good and strong. Are you supposed to wait even longer after getting another scar? Are there any good medical links out there?

Thanks.

I've had 3 c sections (small pelvis, unable to deliver vaginally)...with every one, of course, there's risk. I ruptured (old scar opened under pressure of contractions) with my daughter in May and she passed away. Thats one risk of multiple cesareans. THen again, I wasn't monitored or informed of risk of rupture from old scars. Doesn't mean that you can't have children...but make sure you have a good doc who will monitor your scar tissue (which can be done by a transvaginal u/s) and monitor the baby very often. I have heard that its best to wait 18+ after one c section. I waited 13 with my daughter and still ruptured...and my SIL got preggy 6 WEEKS after a c section and is now 8 months pregnant and doing fine. So it all depends on your scar tissue, and how big the baby is, and how well your doctor monitors you. I am planning to conceive another child, but will be seeing a maternal-fetal medicine specialist (who I already have a consultation with on 8-22)to monitor my pregnancy (because of my history...placenta abruption/uterine rupture and RH-). Anyway, goodluck and just make sure you are taken care of!
