I am 6 weeks pp and I am trying to get back to FAM. I am taking my temp every morning and checking cervical paostion and fluid. I have TCOF and The Garden of Fertility. BUT I have a question. All the books have a section on bfing and charting but there really isn't alot of in depth info. How do I know when I am fertile if I have no period yet? I am checking fluid and it has never been 'dry' like the book says it should be with bfing everytime the baby asks for it. It is always 'wet'. Today the fluid was definately eggwhite so does that mean I am ovulating now or that I will soon? Or is it just t he leftover pregnancy hormones messing with me?!? My period returned 10 weeks after dd was born and I know for sure that I ovulated during the second pp cycle. I conceived ds at 6 months pp. I am ready to do the deed again- should we ever get the kids to bed at the same time and still be awake ourselves! But I REALLY really do not want to get pregnant again so soon.: Please help! Thanks!

If you have actual egg whites, I wouldn't dtd without a barrier method in place. With breastfeeding, if you have the same pattern of cf for a number of weeks in a row, you can declair that to be your "infertile pattern" and not worry until things change. Once you note a change in your cf, you start to worry if it is becoming fertile.

Charting while bfing can be tricky, even after AF has returned. However, with a few months practice, you'll get the hang of it!
