Hi all,
I have a question regarding an OPK detecting pregnancy. I have been tracking my cycle for 4 months by BBT, CP, and CM. My cycle has been very regular; 28-30 days long, O on Day 14-16. For the last 2 months a friend of mine lent me her Clear Blue Fertility Monitor. I did not “peak” this month mainly because on certain key days the sticks did not wick and I did not catch it until after I pulled it out of the reader so did not get a reading. However, I am very confident that I did indeed O and when that was. Fast forward 10 days to the 24th day of my cycle. The monitor is now saying that I am “peaking.” When I look at the actual stick there is a blue line where the LH detecting side of the stick is. (In case anyone is unfamilar with how it works; it detects the surge of both estrogen and LH so on peak days 2 blue lines can be seen whereas on non-peak days generally only the estrogen line is there and it gets darker or lighter depending on where you are in your cycle). So, any chance I am pregnant or am I just hopelessly optimistic? I would have done a HPT even though it is a little early, but did not have any. If I test tomorrow, what are the chances?

I have used regular old internet cheapie OPT strips as HPTs. It worked when I tested every day and saw that line get darker and darker each day. It wouldn't really be informative when doing just one time point though, you need to see the progression over time of that line getting darker.

they are really not reliable as they detect 2 different types of hormones.

It can be done, but just go buy an HPT.
