We live in ********** and I would love to know where any of you Alabama folks get your raw milk and meat.

Right now we've gotten some meat through our CSA, but there is not much selection there. I'd also love to find a farmer that could give us some less popular parts and organs for our dog that is raw fed.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I live in Florida so I can't help you with the raw milk, but have you checked out the list from the real milk website? http://www.realmilk.com/where2.html

I also just purchased half a cow from this farm: http://www.boutwellfarms.com/

It's quite a drive for me but I'm sure you could be closer!

We live in ********** and get our meat from a farm in Blountsville, Al. Their place is about an hours drive from our home. They are very nice folks and reasonably priced. They have chicken, eggs, beef, and pork. We buy ground grass fed beef, chickens and eggs from them about once a month. We have also split a hog with some friends. They used to do raw cows milk but they will be switching to goats milk soon. Their info is on the real milk website...

Blountsville: Shallow Creek Farm and Feed, Terry Sterling, [email protected] . Free-range chickens and brown eggs, raw cow's milk for pet consumption and raw goat's milk for pet consumption, homemade lye soap, farm-raised hogs. Beginning to do grass-fed beef; email for details.

We're about to start buying from Shallow Creek Farm - I just talked to Terry this morning and am so excited about all they offer. I'd love to start some type of co-op with some families where one rotating person makes the trip to the farm each week to make the purchases for everyone. Would you be interested in something like that?

I actually haven't been buying anything from Terry for the past year and I was just thinking last night I needed to start again.  Last year my 2nd was born and she HATED the car, so longer trips stopped.  But now she is much better and making the trip is do-able again.  I would love to co-op!!  Are you doing a milk share?
