Anybody have any experience with or recommendations for a breastfeeding class in the Atlanta area?

I took this class through northside hospital with my first:

Breastfeeding Moms/Couples: Breastfeeding is a learned skill and our international board certified lactation consultants will teach you 5 key points to get a jumpstart on successful breastfeeding. Learn about the benefits of skin to skin contact and practical tips for latching, positioning, and how to establish an abundant milk supply during the early weeks and months of nursing. Register Now!

http://www.northside.com/medical_ser...g_Classes.aspx

while I can't say I loved any other part of my northside experience, the class was actually really thorough and I enjoyed it.

Christine, mom to C(7.5) - E(5) - J(3) - B(10 mos)

Doula, childbirth educator, Co-leader of ICAN of Atlanta

Great breastfeeding class..... among all the good classes they offer. Not sure where you are, but it's worth the drive!

I took one with a Better Birth foundation a few years aog. It was adequate, but I think a new mom would really learn more from attending a series of La Leche League meetings.

Definitely check out your local La Leche League group: http://www.lllofga.org/areamap.html

If you're in the North Fulton area, I'd be happy to give you meeting details for our May meetings.

There was one at DeKalb Medical for a long time. They ran a general new mom's group and a breastfeeding group on Thursday mornings.

I've also heard good things about the one at Piedmont Hospital.
