My 23 month old son has a severe lip-tie and what looks to be some decay across his front four teeth. I am having A LOT of difficulty finding a pediatric dentist who doesn't seem to be an anti-breastfeeding fluoride-pusher. On top of that, the Dr. that is considered THE expert in lip-tie/tongue-tie has just responded to an email of mine, informing me that he knows of no one in the Southeastern US that can help me with my son's lip-tie (which is apparently the cause of tooth decay)! Can anyone help me?? I live in Stuart, FL and am not opposed to traveling if need be.
Have you talked to Dr. Denise Punger in Ft. Pierce? http://twofloridadocs.com/ I don't know if she will clip lip tie, and she only really does this for breastfeeding moms having troubles with nursing due to tongue tie but she clipped my DD's tongue tie when I lived down there. She might know of someone who can help you.
Also, there is a Tongue Tie resource group on Facebook, look them up and join. http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/30008320854/ They talked about a doctor located in Gainesville that would do lip ties (a friend of mine was looking, I thought DS had a lip tie but it seems to be loosening, I am watching him for decay though).
