does anyone know of a good fertility specialist in or near Gwinnett County area that treats overweight women? I had an appointment at Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine and was told I would have to lose a considerable amount of weight before they would treat me. I left crying and heartbroken. i know that i do need to lose weight and plan to but just wondering if there are any doctors that treat overweight women.

I'm so sorry about your appointment with ACRM. We used them for our first pregnancy, and I was told that my weight was borderline for their treatment.

I don't have any suggestions about fertility specialists, but do you have an OB/GYN that you like? I had a bad weight-related experience with a Gwinnett doctor, and lovely experiences with other practitioners. ... PM me if you have questions.

I saw Dr. Perloe at Geogia Reproductive Specialists.  I'm not sure if they have weight cut-offs for treating people, but he treated me when I was overweight. (I am 5'11" and was 230 lbs at the time.)  He did inform me that I'd have a better chance of getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy at a lower weight, but he was nice about it and didn't delay my treatment at all.  I was already eating very cleanly and exercising when I started to see him, but I never got to the weight he wanted me to be.  But I got pregnant on the second insemination, and my partner and I have a lovely 10 month old baby now.  Best of luck to you!  Let me know if you want more information.

I was going to suggest ACRM.. but I see that was an issue. They did the IVF/ICSI for me with my twins. I went to GRS to start with but had a bad experience and left.

Anyway, good luck on your journey.

Have you tried the Emory Reproductive Clinic based out of Emory Midtown?   I am 5'8 and almost 200 lbs and they did not mention weight to me at all.
