Hey T, how is I doing tonight?

Kierstin, how was the concert? I don't think my dd would sit through something like that.

Hi Leslina! Welcome! This thread started off meeting at parks in Sarasota, but right now we are meeting mostly at the port charlotte mall at the play area. As it gets cooler we'll probably start going to the parks. This group now is from North Port/Port Charlotte area so we're usually down this way. U R more than welcome to join us but if we are too far I suggest starting another thread. There are lots of mama's on MDC from Sarasota but I think they might have left this thread since we started meeting in Port Charlotte. We could also meet in the middle and go to a park in Vence or Nokomis, and I can't speak for everyone but we love Sarasota and don't mind going up there sometimes too.

Welcome!

I don't mind going up to Sarasota when the weather cools down a bit. Colonial Oaks park is really nice

there is a park behind mote that is really nice. lots of area for kids to run and play and you sit near a marina so the kids can look out over boats. my son LOVES that.

I loved colonial oaks park too, it was nice and shaded and fenced in I'm willing to go back to that park when it cools off a bit. I keep getting ready to re-join playdates and then someone gets sick again : Aiden is a walking germ these days and Evan now has a runny nose. We'll keep our germs to ourselves and start showing up again when they go away.

Hi leslina! I'm in North Port, but I go up to Sarasota several times a week. I would be up for a park day there, it would be fun!

As for going anywhere the rest of this week it'll be hard. As much as I need to get out it may not be possible. My FIL is here for the week and things are, well~interesting to say the least.:

I have been wanting to take ds to mote for a while- I think he's at the age where he'll really enjoy it now. It's far from us but maybe we could meet-up there sometime and bring lunches and go to park after?

Oh you're going to need to get out for a bit

We're going to storytime at 11am at the NP Library tomorrow, you have to register if anyone wants to go. 861-1300 Ext 4. T is taking her boys too. Then we'll probably get lunch and go to a park if anyone wants to meet up

that is a great idea. mote, I think, is great for little ones. there is enough to capture their attention but not to much to bore them. We go there a couple of times a month usually. I'm good mondays-thursdays.

I'm not sure what park we're going to- I don't know any in PC. But I think we're going to Sunsplash after the library for lunch around 1pm. I'll pm you my cell in case we don't run into you there or we haven't come up with a meeting place by the time we leave this morning at 10:30

Kierstin- I just realized I don't have the option to pm you. We're going to meet at Sunsplash at 1pm for lunch and figure out what to do from there. If anyone else wants to go too we'll see you there. I know T is going but I'm not sure about anyone else.

sorry i didn't check the forum for a few days to know about getting together but i wouldn't have been up for anything on thursday. i am having CRAZY "female issues". i think my body is finally wise to the fact that the milk factory has shut down after almost four years of continuous production and the rest of my system has gone a little haywire in response.
in addition to not feeling so hot (or a little TOO hot at times as it were there were a few scheduling conflicts with borrowing one or the other of my parents' cars--my dad has parkinson's and his yearly check-ups (blood work, physical, PET scan, etc) were all scheduled for this week. plus my mom is a teacher at neil armstrong and they had their ribbon cutting ceremony for the new building wednesday and she had to get ready for that. she was so excited to show it off, we got to tour the new building, eleanor liked that, she's pretty ramped up for going to school.
also, eleanor had to go into the doctor this morning because she's been saying it's uncomfortable when she goes potty but luckily it was not a bladder infection. we saw dr. mayo. i don't know anything about her, my dad's doctor recommended her. the pediatrician that i saw growing up here has (not surprisingly) retired. i liked her okay, she seemed very observant and actually listened to what eleanor was saying and doled out the lollipop BEFORE the exam, which was nice anyone have their two cents about her?
i'm up for anything next week.
grethyl has my phone number if anyone needs to reach me off-forum.

Does anyone want a train table? We have the Imaginarium train table (2 yrs old so model is slightly different than pic) http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2327573 Aiden doesn't use it and it takes up too much space in his room. We've lost one or two pieces of track and one piece of track broke so it is glued back togehter - it is wood. The main bridge has a broken leg, but we still have the leg. One of the buildings is also broken. I know Toys R us sells extra track and pieces, so anything can be replaced. I do not have the instructions that show how the track is supposed to go : I was gonna list it on freecycle and give it away for free but figured I would offer it to all of you first. Anyone interested?

if the train table is not already spoken for i think eleanor would easily give her left leg for this as she goes nuts in every barnes and noble we are ever in fighting with kids over the train tables there. let me know what the best way to contact you offlist would be to come get it ASAP. she will be the happiest child on the planet.

It's yours! You can PM me and let me know when you can get it and I'll give you directions. Do you have a pickup or minivan? The table is pretty big, I'm not sure if it would fit in a regular trunk, unless you want to take it apart.

Hi Ladies,

Hope everybody is doing well! We are hanging in there... Ava has just begun tottering around on her own. She is going to be a peacock for Halloween, just got the costume today. It is just too cute!

This message is really for Kierstin... my babysitter was strolling with Ava the other day and met you! She came back to our house to let me know, and when she said "there's this mom named Kierstin with a daughter Eleanor, just moved from TX" I thought "hmmm... how many Kierstins just moved from TX can there be in Port Charlotte?!!"

PM me when you have a minute and we'll have to meet up. I am semi-busy this week but have Thursday free, and Friday after 1 or 2 PM. Anyone else want to meet this week?

Dd has a bad cold, so we are laying low. It doesn't help that dh is out of town this week:

If she's feeling better by Friday then we'll join you.

Hi all,

MiamiMami, I hope the little one's cold is mild and short-lived...

Kierstin & I will meet somewhere some time on Thursday... that is pretty vague but will likely make a note on the board once we talk tonight.

We could be at the mall play area about 2:30 or 3 PM Friday if that works for anyone else. Or maybe out-of-doors now that it's getting a little cooler.
