On Tuesday May 5th the North Carolina Friends of the Midwives consumer group will be having an education day at the NC Legislature. We need supporters of homebirth certified professional midwives to join us to help pass out information to the legislators. We are asking legislators to pass a bill that would license certified professional midwives in NC.
If it is possible for the whole family to come to Raleigh for the day - the free museum right across the street is a great family outing, then please join us at Pullen Park in the afternoon for our picnic. Dropping off information and briefly speaking with legislators should take less than 30 minutes time.
If you can, please call your legislators to scheduled an appt. If you don't have an appt., it would still be absolutely wonderful if you could join us at the legislature on Tuesday just to take info to your representatives – hearing from constituents is crucial. The NCFOM board will be set up with donuts, information and talking points from 9:30 -1:30 in the main lobby. If you are willing to just drop information off at your legislators’ offices, a board member would be happy to go with you for support and help covering the main points.
The crossover deadline is May 14th – we really are getting down to the wire, our awareness day on the 5th is really key.
