Hi. I'm currently 29 weeks in my second pregnancy. I lost my first last year - water broke at 21 w 5 d because of IC, was in hospital for 2 weeks before delivering daughter, who lived less than 2 hours. I have a cerclage now, on modified bedrest - so far, so good!
But I'm in this precarious place in the medical world where I feel suspended between hardcore medical (I have an OB & am dealing with "traditional" medicine due to my high risk) and a more natural, holistic approach to health (I have an awesome chiropractor that I go to regularly). I lean more toward the natural approach - I'd prefer to have a selective, delayed vaccine schedule, I want as little "intervention" as possible, etc. However, because I'm working with the medical community during pregnancy, they're expecting me to have a pediatrician picked out for my baby. But I don't want just any pediatrician. I'd prefer to find one who is more "natural" friendly, i.e., strong breastfeeding support, co-sleeping advocate, delayed/selective vaccine support, etc. But I'm having difficulty finding one.
My chiropractor works with babies & children, and he & his family are very natural (vegetarian, kids only saw pediatrician like twice growing up, not vaccinated, etc.). But I'm just not sure that a chiropractor would cover all the bases, if you know what I mean.
So, my question is, does anyone have any advice as to one vs. the other? And if you know of any natural/holistic pediatricians in the Nashville/Mid-TN area, could you recommend them?
Thanks so much, sorry this was long-winded. : )
