Up for another playdate?? I don't have anyplace specific in mind (although I drove inside that new White Deer park last week and it looks VERY nice but we can wait for that) but just wanted to get a thread started. I have to work today so I'll try to check back later and see what everyone's thoughts were.

It's DS' birthday later this week. Where ever and when ever, I would like to bring some snacks (carrot sticks, ants on a log, trail mix, etc) to celebrate.

How about Ritter Park? I think we did that one a few months ago, but it might be nice to revisit. But someone else please offer a suggestion if you would rather meet elsewhere.

My mom is here this week! So I think we are going to do Marbles on Wednesday. Then DH is actually home and NOT WORKING on Friday, so we are having a family day. So it looks like we will not be seeing you guys this week.

I do want to go to White Deer Park soon Kelly. Maybe next week?

Wednesday is supposed to be only 56*
Friday is supposed to be 67*

I don't think I've been to Ritter Park - must be we missed that week for some reason.

And what's the white deer one?

Please do! We don't bite
And we're usually pretty easy to spot at the parks. Just look for the carriers and you've found us

I don't remember which one is Ritter, but that's fine with me-I don't care!!

White Deer Park is a new park that opened up across the street from Lake Benson Park (why they put them so close together I don't know, but...) It has lots of paths and 2 play areas, one of which is a natural play area, which looked pretty cool when I drove by it. So should be fun someday to check it out.

I could do either Wed or Fri, whichever is better for everyone else.

I just wanted to chime in and say hello. I made it to Kids Together Park back in September, but haven't been able to get to another gathering. We had a wretched October (car accident, guests, pulling DS out of preschool after questionable behavior by the preschool, etc.), and are traveling or hosting guests until Thanksgiving. I have really wanted to meet up with you guys again, but I can't seem to make it work.

Have fun this week and I hope to be there soon!

We can do Wednesday, but no Friday. If that works better for the rest of the group, then we can just catch up with everyone next week.

April, hope you can make it soon!

RileyMama, thanks for checking back in. I hope your life settles in and things start going better for your. See you after Thanksgiving.

They have now changed the weather forecast (shocker...)

55 on Wed. only 57 on Fri. and rain both days.

Do we have an inside option? What park did we go to that had the community center with the gym? Maybe we can call and see if we can reserved that for a couple hours?

There is also a Swift Creek Community Center that is really close to my house that I just saw the other day that I can call and ask about - but it doesn't look big enough to have a gym inside...

It was Bond Park that had the community center.

So maybe the Bond Park community center people were just being nice last time when they let us play... It's $55 an hour to use the gym if you reserve it!!!

Swift Creek is more for meetings but has a full kitchen! For $50 for 5 hours - no gym.

Those are OUT!

I can't do marbles tomorrow (I'm going to hold out until we get our membership for the holidays it's just too much everytime we go. ) - if that's what the group wants to do though go for it!

Whoops. I thought you knew that in Cary reservations cost $$$, but we were allowed to just use an unbooked space. In Apex we would be charged $1 per resident, but $5 for non-residents. I don't know what Raleigh's policy is for their community centers.

Hmm. Marbles is out for us, too. Science museum is free, but I hear the concerns about supervising the kids there.

I am willing for everyone to come here. My house is small, and no one is allowed to judge my housekeeping but at least it is entirely childproofed with lots of toys. I do have a dog though if there are any allergy problems.

It looks like winter playgroups are about to get interesting.

hi Rileymama! I remember you- hope to see you again soon!

OK, I just spent the last 25 minutes googling community centers, open gyyms etc, with no luck. The Clayton comm. center isn't built yet. I tried a couple others out here in case they were cheaper, but no luck.

What about YMCA's? It's been years since I went to one and it was in Illinois, but they DID have sort of an open gym type thing.

But I am certainly willing to come to your house, Heather. Once we get this house cleaned up (if it EVER happens!!) everyone is welcome to come here too. But we have 3 dogs and 2 cats-I will lock them up but no matter what we cab't get all the hair up, it just won't happen.

It is unbelievable to me that somewhere like Raleigh doesn't have anything for indoor play other than Marbles that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. For the $50/5 hours place, if we had enough people it coudl possibly work-I could pay $7-10 for the 3 of us to play.

Ok, Tessa is crawling all over on top of the desk while I frantically try to write this, so gotta go for now!

We can do my house too when DH isn't on nights. I'm just thinking he might not love a house full of kids after he's worked all night...lol.
