I am moving to the Apex area next month from the Netherlands. I just found out that I am pregnant with my third child. I had 2 home births here and had a wonderful experience with both. I would like to have another home birth in NC. Does any one have a referral or any information on a midwife in the area? I appreciate your input.

Welcome to the Triangle, mama!!  I have had all 6 of my babies at home, the last 3 here in Chapel Hill.  Because of the legal status of Certified Professional Midwives in our state, I cannot give the name of my midwife on this forum.  She is amazing though and I highly recommend her.

There are also a few CNMs in the area, one of which I work for.  Google Carrboro Midwifery or Birthwise.

Best of luck on your move and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I also just moved from a place that supports home births and I am really bummed that the midwifes I visited women's health alliance at Briar Creek and I really liked the midwife, but she said the same that it is not a woman loving system around here. Please let me know how I can do this. Would it be  covered by insurance?
