======================

At 521-Rec Center, there are acres and acres of shady land, a fishing lake, picnic tables, a gymnasium, three class rooms; a lounge with sofas and 40-inch plasma, flat-screen TV; tables, chairs, a game room with (brand new!) pool table, fooz ball, air hockey, ping pong and TV; balls, basket ball goals, baseball field, a football field with goals, parking, etc. etc. It is incredible!!

All FREE!

***Parents must be present to supervise their children.***

Park around in the front of the building. The management just requests no food in the building, that we clean up after ourselves, return the equipment and balls, and sign-in at the front desk when you enter the facility.

The Rec Center is in Ballantyne about 4 miles south of I485, near 521. The regular entrance is being worked on so you have to go through an alternate entrance that is not as well mark. You actually go through a neighborhood to the back of it and enter behind the center.

If you go to Google Maps http://maps.google.com/

Put in:
Sedgemoor Ln and Westmill Lane 28277

That will be the spot you enter into the back of the park. You can then get directions from your house. There are many ways to get there, depending on where you live.

Here are directions from I485 (Exit 61A).

Driving directions to Sedgemoor Ln 3.6 mi from Johnston Rd/US-521 S

1.Head south on Johnston Rd/US-521 S toward John J Delaney- drive 2.2 miles
2.Turn left at Marvin Rd- drive 1.1 miles
3.Turn right at Southampton Commons- drive 269 ft
4.Turn left at Sedgemoor Ln- drive 0.2 mi

521-District Park phone: 704-540-2426

Sign in at the front entrance.

The classrooms can accommodate about 15 wiggling, or 25 sitting children. Folks can sign up for EACH club in the database. Please make a separate entry for each child, for EACH club. Limit 30 members per club gathering. (This allows folks to miss or attend, as desired.)

Arts and Crafts and Homeschool 4H are full at the moment.

2008 Homeschool Club Database: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Explor...ortRows&tbl=34

The database can be sorted by location or club.

ALL AGES, ALL HOMESCHOOLERS WELCOME EVERY FRIDAY!! Welcome to post to other homeschool lists. Come join us!!
