The West Virginia Friends of Midwives organization needs your membership and support to push for licensing of midwives in West Virginia. Currently, Certified Nurse Midwives are licensed to practice in WV, but Certified Professional Midwives are not. Licensing of CPM's in WV would bring more midwives to the state, allowing women more choices when it comes to where to deliver their babies, and with whom. It would also open doors to build more independent birth centers, and possibly open midwifery schools.

It is free to join West Virginia Friends of Midwives, but if you donate $20 or more, they will send you a Midwifery T-shirt. The organization needs more members to stand up and fight for midwifery. Womens' choices are severely limited in WV, but womens' voices can change this.

To learn more or join, go to the West Virginia Friends of Midwives homepage. :

Sprat sleepytime.gif, Certified Professional Midwife, loved very much by Sprig reading.gif, the most open-minded, loving, gentle man in the world, and now Sprout fly-by-nursing1.gif walking, talking, how on earth is she this big?! Rainbow.gif on earth.gif begins with homebirth.jpg.
