I see there's a lot of areas where the mdc mamas (or other groups) get together, but I don't see anything in Genesee County...

Any of you interested in getting together? We could do it during the day with the kids, or have something just for mamas (a little trickier IMO).

We could try to find a central location to get the kids together and play and a time that works for the majority. I wondered about Genesee Valley, they've got a play area for the kids by Sears. A park might be nice in the summer...

What do you think????

Hi,
I would be interested. I don't know of any groups in the area either. You are right mamas only would be trickier. Genesee is close for me! Sounds fun.

Stephanie....I'll meet you one day! I'd love to meet w/Gen Cnty mamas....I'm in Ortonville. I find, though, that Grand Blanc/Davison are my furthest reaches in the NW direction.

I'm in Flushing...

Any certain days, times that work or definately don't work? It might be hard to find something that will work for everyone, but hey - we won't know if we don't try!

I work Mon and Wed and I'm generally flexible besides that.

I'm just past Ortonville - haha. I'm in a weird area - Ortonville phone number, Goodrich mailing address, and Hadley property taxes.

Anybody have location suggestions? I'm not sure Genesee valley would work for everyone. Where would be a good place?

Would Feb 19 or 20 or Feb 26 or 27 work?

Votes for morning or afternoon?

Carrin, I did see that! I'm trying to coordinate vehicles with my mum, but I think I might be able to make it. I'll RSVP once I know for sure.

Any of those dates work for me. Afternoon is better. What about meeting at a fastfood place with a play area? I wish we had someplace better to meet....

Teffer-How fun! Another Davison mom!

hey alright!! im in fiint! and would be up for a get together! im sitting here racking my brain trying to figure out a good location though. children's museum is fun for the kids, but doesn't provide many opportunities for mamas to socialize. hmm...a fast food place would be fine with me. the boys would probably love going inside the "french fry restaurant"! im commited most mondays and wednesdays. otherwise flexible. mornings are better for us.

I'm game! I'm in Capac, but I'm more than willing to drive to meet up with other moms. My vote would be Fri, Feb 27, maybe early afternoon, 12 noon-ish? I don't know much about the Genessee Valley Mall; how big is their play area? Is there a rec center in the area? I know Lapeer County has an indoor rec center where kids can play/swim. Otherwise, a McDonalds or BK would be adequate. If the mall play area is big, I think that would be good. I'd offer my house...but we're so far away. Anyways, that's my vote, and I'm definitely game. I went to one of the Troy meetings on here, but it was so far and we're almost from different planets since we're so far apart...didn't have anything in common. I'd love to see something more in this direction!!

In the summer, Davison has an awesome park the kids could get together at, even a nice spring day coming up.

I love the park in Davison too. I can't wait for spring! I went to the play area at the valley today, it was OK. Some of the fastfood play areas are better than others. My daughter's afraid of some of the really high ones.

How old are everyone's kids? Maybe that would make a difference where we meet. My kids are almost 4 years and 7 months.

My ds is 2, and I still have to sort of watch him when he's playing, but I'd be ok with a fastfood play place... It will be so awesome when it's warm enough to go to a park!

We are definately morning people, 12:30 to 3:30 is prime napping time for us. I wonder if we'll have to do separate play groups for a.m. people and p.m. people!!??

Anyone know of a good fast food play place in flint/davison?

I'm pretty flexible. I prefer afternoons, but I could probably do mornings. My littlest one usually takes a nap in the car to where ever we're going anyway and my older daughter doesn't take a nap anymore.

There's a McDonald's with a playarea on Davison road in Flint. I think there's one in Grand Blanc too....

I can be flexable with the time. I only said afternoon because my DH is home in the mornings sometimes and it can be hard to get everybody out of the house when he is around.
My kids are 6, almost 5, 3, and 15 months. We have never been to a fast food place, but I do imagine that it would be hard to watch a 1 or 2 year old in those high play gyms. I can't think of any place else, though. When we lived in IL we had a coffee house with a play area for kids. Any one know if there is a place like that?
It will be nice when it warms up. Parks are perfect!

What about a library? I like the one in Davison, or the Flint Public Library.

My kids are 3.5 yo, 15 mos old, and 7 mos old. We're probably out if it comes down to it for mornings. It's way too hard to get three under three out the door at an early time given that we live an hour from Genessee/Flint. Also, my husband carpools and I'd need to be able to stick around long enough to pick him up after work. But I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what you guys decide.

Ooh, I'd be up for this too! Maybe by the end of the month it will be nice enough to get outside to a park somewhere. Even this little warm-up has felt like spring! There are a couple great parks in Grand Blanc--Rush Park or Physicians Park?

It's a bit of work trying to organize a big group, isn't it? Hmmm. I'm thinking for now we could do a late morning play at a fast food play place, then maybe in spring we can go for an outside one...

Can someone recommend a good play place for us that will be kind of central? I don't get out toward Davison or GB too often, so I don't know of a good place...

I'm thinking there's a Halo Burger or something at the corner of Linden and ****** Rd (right across from GV mall) that has a play place. Can anyone confirm? That seems like it would be pretty central.

Good to meet you at TLS, footprints! Hopefully we'll see you soon.

Ok, I just looked it up on the web, and there is a play area. Better food, imo, too!

Well, I think that we originally talked about doing the play area at GV mall, but some said that was too far for them. It is a perfect location for me though. Maybe we need two lacations since we are so spread out.
This will all be so much easier when the weather is better!
