Hi everyone,
I have been browsing this website for a couple years now ever since I had by son. I am now becoming a member (finally) to ask for your help. I just recently found out I am pregnant again. I planned a natural birth with my first child however unfortunately the labor and delivery did not go as I had hoped. I gave birth in a hospital with doctors and nurses who took my birth plan and set it aside with no regard to me or my child. I would love to have a home birth with the new baby. I am looking for recommendations for midwives and possibly an o/b who works with midwives in the indianapolis area. Mary Soper has been mentioned to me but she does not accept my insurance... any other suggestions?

Thanks so much!

For homebirths in Indy, I would recommend Lynda Barton-Kirch, CNM or Deanna Baker, CPM .

Looks like I'm on the search for a midwife in Indy too!

I gave Nurse Midwives of Indianapolis ( ) a call this morning and have a consultation appointment in a couple weeks. Homebirth has been vetoed by DH, and I'm OK with that, for now anyway. I'm looking forward to learning more about the birthing center.
