we'll be moving to lansing by the end of the month, and if anyone can give me housing tips i'd appreciate it. we're looking towards East Lansing/Okemos area. Does anyone have any recs as far as apartment communities, or can tell me which areas are good?
Also what is the average rent for a 2 and 3 bedroom?
It has been a while since I have checked out the apartment situation but the one thing you might want to keep in mind is with MSU in the area a lot of the apartments house students and the partying can get crazy. So i would make sure you asked about how many students they have. I think the more towards okemos or haslett the better unless you dont mind the student crowd. hopefully someone else can give you specific neighborhoods
Sorry this is kind of late, but if you are still looking - If you'd like to be in EL I would recommend staying north of Burcham. Anything south on through to down town you will be running into parties and college kids. Our 3 bedroom house is $1200/mo. Rent tends to be inflated because landlords will price per bedroom as their target market is the student body - our house would be pretty affordable at $400 a bedroom split between 3 roommates. Hope this helps.
