Not really parenting specific, but I love White Mountain Honey Farm products.  It's all natural soap, etc. You can find them at the new Beavercreek Kroger.

I'm in Dayton.  But I just moved here so I don't know much about Attachment/Natural product sellers in the area.  We're looking at doing a CSA this summer and there's actually a meat CSA in the area that we've talked about but aren't sure we can afford.  We might go to the farmer's market and buy their meat because it's actually a little cheaper for the cuts we would normally get (ground beef, chicken breasts, etc.) than the CSA ends up being.

There's actually a pretty neat natural store down in Cincy called "Park and Vine" which sells cloth diapers (including prefolds, bumgenius and fuzzibunz) and they seemed to have a lot of natural toys and products.  It is a bit far though - about an hour away.

DragonDream - there is a store much closer that has a large selection of Cloth diapers and supplies - prefolds/covers; AIO; hybred; Fuzzibunz - perfect fit as well as OS; Rumperooz..

It is in Troy, about a 20-30 min drive from here.  I will PM a link to their facebook page to you.  She also sells cloth diaper friendly soap and other supplies.

Are there any non vaxers with kids in Kettering Schools? I have a Daughter going into Kindergarten next year, just wondering what the exemption process is like with them. TIA

Did you ask to speak to the manager's boss?  Call Kroger Corporate?

Is there more to the Kroger story? This is the first I've heard of it.

Corporate for Kroger's was contacted by the news and they issued a statement, which they agree this should not have happened and will be speaking with those involved and provide training on the subject.

I am all for nurse-ins where the company has not admitted they were wrong, but Kroger's has and is attempting to remedy the situation to prevent it from happening again.  Hence, there is not a reason to do the nurse in.  This situation is different from the Fairfield Commons Mall, where they refused to admit their wrong doing in handling the situation.

Thanks for the links. The response from Kroger corporate is appropriate, and I am glad!  I agree, khaoskat--no need for a nurse-in since they're admitting the manager was out of line.

Hi everyone - we're looking for some new playgrounds and parks to try out.  We're fans of Shoup in Beavercreek, Shawnee in Xenia, and Orchardly in Oakwood.  What do you recommend?

There's a brand new spray park at JFK in Kettering, behind Polen Farm.  Also, if you haven't tried McGee Park in Bellbrook (on Little Sugarcreek Rd.), it's fun because there is a shallow, accessible creek at the back.  Or if you're up for a hike, the Sugarcreek Reserve also has accessible creeks within a preschooler's walking distance.  And there's always Wegerzyn's Discovery Garden.

Ooo, I just saw this thread, although I have posted in the general fyt area above.

Any ideas on a farm turkey for T-giving (free range, organic, no hormones, etc) in the region?

TIA!
