good to know, I will keep my ears open.  I hope that this will work out, I am exhausted of interviewing docs.

Morton (Nick) Saunders out of Premiere Medical Partners in Cuyahoga Falls.  The whole practice used to be relatively anti-vax.  They have recently caved and will do vaxes but still don't harass.

Why all the secretive PMs regarding non vax doctors?

would this practice in cuyahoga falls see a baby, though?  My daughter is only 3 months old.  I'm trying to find a pediatrician to take her to that won't turn her away if I don't want any vaccinations.  It would also be nice if they took medicaid (?) But not completely necessary.  If anyone knows of a vaccine free/ friendly pediatrician that will see a 3 month old baby I am in the Akron area.  Green, Cuyahoga Falls, Akron, Tallmadge, Ellet, Kent, Hudson, etc.

I posted this question on Cleveland Natural Parenting's Facebook page and got some good leads. Vaccine-friendly pediatricians: Dr. Jon Kannensohn - UH Premier Pediatricians (Mentor), Dr. David Kuentz - Brooklyn Health Center (Metro), Dr. Thomas Phelps in Chesterland. I've also heard there's a family practitioner, Dr. Brown in the Wooster area who is also vax friendly, but I don't have more info on him.

I recently heard about Dr. Jeffrey Shaw at Canton Pediatrics being good.  The second-hand info I have is that he hasn't vaccinated his own children.  I need to find a new ped. for our 3 yr old soon and may check him out.  Has anyone else heard of him?

Dr. Janet Levatin, MD sounds like just the kind of ped. you are looking for. She just gave us (Oh. Midwives Alliance) a great inservice on all the dangers of vaccines, Vit K, & such! She does homeo-prophylaxis. She works with Dr. Tenpennny in Middleburg Heights, OH. 440-239-3438

Hi there! I know this thread is old, but I just finished up an interview with Dr. Shaw and can answer some questions for any who have them. However, you may not want to bother. Dr. Shaw, while accepting of unvaccinated patients, is certainly not welcoming of them. Expect to get drilled on why you choose not to vaccinate or to delay (yet have any of your research and resources dismissed as "junk"), receive a sermon on the dangers of "vaccine-preventable" diseases, and be engaged in a debate on the matter (and one you will never win as it is set up as Misinformed Layperson v. Medical Genius). Someone else on here thought that his children were not vaccinated, but this is not the case. He supports vaccinations on a strict schedule with boosters and seasonal flu vaccines wholeheartedly!

Still, at least he'll accept you in his practice. If you are not a crunchy-minded mama, then he's likely a fantastic pediatrician! He loves kids and has won a number of awards. His patients seem to truly like him. And while I felt attacked and engaged in a debate for which I never asked, he was still civil and friendly by the end.

Now that this post is bumped, any other mamas have pediatrician recommendations for the Akron area? I need help!
