i dunno if they do milk there, but there's an organic farm/csa in Pinckney (can't remember the name of it) that you can buy in on free range organic cows for meat. if you googled it, i'm sure you'd get their number. fwiw, their produce is wonderful (mil and fil live right down the road from it, and i love to stop there when visiting!).

Hicks Dairy delivers raw cow's milk to several Metro Detroit locations. I belong to Family Farms Co-Op (sorry, no website, but you can pm me for the contact info), which delivers raw cow's milk ($7/gallon) & goat's milk ($12/gallon) to Ann Arbor, ********** & Wyandotte. I think Heavenly Dairy in Pinckney is offering goat shares for milk. Garden Patch Farm in Pinckney offers some amazing traditional foods & a CSA, but no milk, and there's a work requirement for farm membership.

we do family farms co-op too, I am not sure if they have any memberships available, but it is worth asking...
and $7 a gallon isn't really all that expensive considering organic pasturized milk in the store usually runs you 3.69-3.99 for a half gallon...

It is when you have a family of 6. It's very discouraging when you want to eat all organic, etc but you can barely afford to feed your family with the garbage you get from the grocery store.

I want my own farm!

thank you all... we called Hicks Dairy Farm... they deliver to a mile from our houses!! She's definatly going to lease a cow, and since I can't afford it right now, I'm just going to buy a gallon off her (my friend not the farm) now and then when I can, under the radar.
