This is stupid, I know, but I want to get my ears pierced. They were pierced when I was 3, but in my teens I stopped wearing earrings and they closed up. I want to get them redone, but do not want to go to the mall and get it done with one of those gun things. I had my lip pierced years ago with a needle, and it was practically painless, so I want that. (I also let that hole close up.)

My question is, is a body piercing place going to laugh at me when I ask to get my lobes repierced? And does anyone have any recommendations on where to go? Obviously, I want to go someplace where cleanliness is paramount and the people are nice. And won't judge my unpierced, non-tattoo'd self.

Mama to DS1 (2/08) and DS2 (9/10).

An option might be to ask a dentist or doctor. I don't know if they still do that anymore, but at one point they did, they would numb it with topical cream if you want and then pierce it with a needle. Might be something to ask if you are there. I know in the 70s when I was growing up, a lot of people had their ears pierced at doctor's offices.

For all things tattoos and piercing, I rec Main Street Tattoo in Edgewood off route 40. I don't think they'd laugh about "just" getting your lobes done.

Im so glad this thread was about YOUR ears, adn not an infant baby girl.

Eek - I didn't even think of that! My teenage aunt took me to have mine done when I was 3, and my mom was NOT happy. But a baby? No way, I wouldn't go there.

I went to a place in Towson to get a new navel ring a few years ago, and again to have it removed when I was pregnant with ds1. I don't recall the name of the place, but it's a couple blocks south of the downtown circle, I think near (to the right of) The Greene Turtle. The front door takes you directly upstairs to their second story location. The same guy was there both times I went, kind of a quiet guy, but nice. I would likely go there again for anything tattoo/piercing related. (like maybe in the future, having my navel ring put back in when I'm done having babies )

The place texanatheart is referring to is Harm City in Towson. I'd also recommend them. I got my eyebrow done there when I was 17.
