Hello!
I saw some very useful postings here, so decided to ask for help.
I and my 3 kids used to be patients of Helen Tsitouris (area people probably know name). She was great!!! No antibiotics unless it necessary, good alternative medicine that worked! She did not had other doctors in practice, no long waiting times, would return call quickly any day or night. She would open office for you on weekends, if child is really sick. I doubt that there are many doctors like her around, but I hope you can help me to get some options. She had both European and American degrees, a lot of experience, and could determine signs of diseases by symptoms without ordering tons of tests, but would not hesitate to order tests when it is necessary.
Unfortunately she is retired, and would see patients on limited bases. We are in bad need of good, experienced pediatrician in reasonable distance from Rockville, MD.
Recently we have been with pediatrician who was on best Washingtonian list, but who failed us badly. He missed 100% clear lyme disease of my daughter,
and she now end up with meningitis, pick line and IV antibiotic. I would not come back to his practice for any money....
We would see specialist now, but I do need new pediatrician whom I can trust badly. I have seen rave reviews about Dr. Fusner, but people said that she would not see new patients, plus she is a bit too far for us. I work in DC, we live in Rockville, MD, so we need to be able to get to doctor within 30 minutes drive from home. My children are 3, 5 and 7 years old.
We currently have Cigna PPO, but can go to Blue Cross PPO next year.

Thanks a lot.

Dr. Sears in Columbia is great. Jumped on my daughters Lyme right away, I might add and is very knowledgeable on it.

She is in solo practice and isn't always taking new patients, but she is totally worth getting on that waiting list!

I had an FP when I was in Silver Spring named Dr. Robert Ginsberg. He was not knowledgeable about homeopathics but he was trained in Ayurvedic and respected my holistic approach. You might try him too.

Thanks. I looked at Dr Sears web site, and she does not take new patients.
Since I have 3 children, I may end up on waiting list for long time...
She also seems to have very limited number of hours per week...

I guess not too much luck with here too. Since she is not MD, she is not in our plan...

I called to ask for waiting list at Dr Fusner office, and was told that they did not take anybody but newborns for 2 years, and there is no waiting list...
I guess I need to deliver one more child to get to that office...

She is in BlueCross PPO plan. I would call the office to double check the insurance plans, they might be more current with their information.

Even if we would change insurance, I have feeling she would be difficult choice for us anyway. Since she is not pediatrician and not MD, my husband would not agree to drive extra miles to see her.

She does take new patients periodically. You get on the list and then you get a call when she has openings. I had a client recently on her list who got the call. I have not found her hours limiting myself. She is in solo practice after all and I can call her cell phone when I have a real need and she doesn't make you come in for every sniffle or fever the way some want to without giving you any advice or support. There just are few holistic docs out there and they aren't in group practice because they can't find like minded people to work with easily.

Well,
we got on waiting list. I actually had to beg to put us their. Office said that they do not plan to continue waiting list or take new patients, and we should not hope... So any more MD pediatricians with homeopathic approach please!

Thanks.

Dr HInderberger in Baltimore is an MD and a homeopathic doctor. Does not accept insurance at all. Good doc, but expensive. I use him only when Dr. Sears is not knowledgeable enough on homeopathics for that particular case.

OK,
I realized no luck with Pediatrician with homeopathic experience.
How about good doctor in solo practice with limited homeopathic experience or at least tolerable with holistic approach (no antibiotics unless really needed) in 10 miles radius to Rockville.
Thanks.

Rockvillemom,

Did you figure something out? I am searching threads because I will be moving in Oct/Nov time frame and I really want to find a few names of doctors before moving.

I will probably have a little time though because DS could see his doctor here if we leave after 10/4......

Thanks!

This is outside your 10 mile range, but we used to see Dr. Razzi in DC. She is an MD and a homeopath, and we loved her (we've moved now). I don't know how often she takes new patients.

Dr. Ioana Razi is a homeopathic pediatrician with both European and american background, she has her own private practice much like dr. Tsitouris. She is in DC (Georgetown, not that far from you). Doesn't take insurance -- you will have to send in your own bills which is not that hard actually. You might need to give her a call to find out about new patients -- I am almost sure she will be able to see your child. Good Luck!
