Hi Eastern Shore Mamas! I've been working on bringing together like-minded mamas from our area and recently formed a group called Midshore Holistic Parenting. Here is our "mission statement", so to speak:

We are a group of parents who strive to raise our children in as natural a way as possible. Attachment parenting, eating natural foods, making informed health decisions, and living in an eco-conscious manner are just a few of the practices that aid us in nourishing the minds, bodies, and spirits of our children and ourselves. We recognize that parenthood is a journey and support all stages and degrees of holistic parenting. We are here to support one another, learn, and have fun!

We'll hopefully be getting together for a playgroup-type thing next week. For more information, visit us at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=109696309052643&ref=mf .

Marine ecologist wife to my kite-boarding soulmate and now a homeschooling SAHM to Annabelle 8/02 and Willem 12/08!

Hi, guys!

Kaara-- I'm in MD, but there are a couple Yahoo groups for homeschooling in our area. DE also has a co-op, called WAVE. I'm sure if you Google it, you'll come up with details.

ChesapeakeBorn--Your group sounds great! If only I lived on the upper shore!

Hope everyone is enjoying spring!

Im looking for a farm market/stand that sells local produce (organic a major plus)something thats there permanently 7 days a week as opposed to a once a week open air deal.Im thinking that would be more likely to take cards.

Raya,

Homeschool mom to Mia ,Shiloh and Anikah

Hi, there. Hmmmm...I thought most (some?) of the farmers markets around took EBT....not sure if there's an issue with the actual cards, though.

You might want to contact Greenbranch Organic Farm in Salisbury--they are open Mon-Sat from 10-6 and they have a credit card machine. Not sure how EBT cards work, but it'd be worth asking. http://www.greenbranchfarm.com/ They sell organic veggies, pastured meat (pork, beef, chicken), eggs, milk, yogurt.

Hi ladies,

I'm way up in N. Wilmington and we are just officially beginning our homeschooling journey! My oldest son attended a gifted kindergarten program up here that just wasn't cutting for him. So we are going to school him at home along with our 4 yr old and 1 yr old.

I've joined some of the local groups on yahoo but there not very active..Homeschoolers and others is for older kids school-age, and was told they are pretty active, and while I can't find an online group for them I did send an email to see about joining in.

Kaara- from what I have seen most of the homeschoolers I chat with or know of live in southern delaware....do a search on yahoo groups and you'll find the above groups I was mentioning

Chesapeake- the group sounds great!!
